3 Simple Recipes to Try at Home that is not Dalgona Coffee

People are stuck inside their homes, with tons of free time but little things to do. Since it’s summer, seeking thrills from old activities may be tempting, but keep in mind that we are still on quarantine and social distancing measures are strictly enforced. From cooking, gardening to other house chores, people are learning to get productive this lockdown while keeping themselves safe. Among the famous quarantine trends is a gem called Dalgona coffeeβ€” a whipped drink made with three simple recipes: instant coffee, sugar, and milk.

Are you one of the people who got plenty of time but don’t know what to do? Aside from Dalgona coffee, there’s a lot of good food you can make at home! Quench the summer heat with these simple recipes you can easily try:

1. 5-Minute Vanilla Ice Cream

For this recipe, you’ll need:

  • 2 ziploc bags (1 gallon-, 1 quart-sized)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1⁄3 cup salt
  • Ice

Procedures:

  1. Pour the milk, sugar, and vanilla altogether in the quart-sized ziploc bag.
  2. Fill the larger, gallon-sized bag with ice and add salt.
  3. Place the smaller bag inside the larger bag and zip the seal. Be keen and see if you closed them both tightly.
  4. After checking, shake the bag consistently for about 5 minutes.
  5. Rinse the small bag off with cold water before opening to keep the salt water from getting into your ice cream.

2. No-Bake Brownies

For this recipe, you’ll need:

  • β…“ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ΒΎ cup cocoa powder
  • ΒΎ cup white sugar
  • Β½ cup coconut oil

Procedures:

  1. Put cocoa powder, sugar, coconut oil, butter, and vanilla extract together in a big bowl.
  2. Mix them together until consistency is smooth enough.
  3. Pour the contents into a baking dish.
  4. Cover the dish with a lid and freeze for two (2) hours.
  5. Cut into equal pieces and serve.

3. Magic Chocolate Bars

For this recipe, you’ll need:

  • 1 pint chocolate ice cream
  • 3 jumbo craft sticks/biscuits
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Procedures:

  1. Line your baking sheet with waxed paper.
  2. Remove the ice cream container’s lid and put it on your work area, facing down.
  3. Slip the craft sticks or biscuits into the side of the ice cream, evenly spacing them. Cut the ice cream between the sticks and form three (3) bars.
  4. Put your newly made ice cream bars properly in the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Freeze until completely solid (preferably overnight).
  6. Combine chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl; heat in the microwave with 30-second intervalsβ€”mixing thoroughly each intervalβ€”until chocolate’s consistency is smooth enough.
  7. Get one ice cream bar at a time and pour the chocolate hard-shell mixture to cover the ice cream sandwich completely. Let dry for a few seconds and pour again. This will help you form a thick shell that will protect your ice cream bar inside.
  8. Put the bars back again on the baking sheet. Repeat the same procedure with the remaining ice cream bars until finished.
  9. Freeze the chocolate bars ideally for fifteen (15) minutesβ€”or until set.

What recipe will you try today? Don’t sweat the stress of boredom! There are lots of fun activities to do and recipes to try when at homeβ€”all you have to do is search for them. Whether you choose to work at home or take a break and focus on your mental well-being this quarantine period, the decision is yours to make.
